Borissov_Kalotina_-_3.jpegPrime Minister Boyko Borissov and the Chairman of the Management Board of Road Infrastructure Agency Georgi Terziyski inspected the commencement of construction works for modernisation of a 17-km section of first-class I-8 road Dragoman - Slivnitsa. A second roadway will be built in the section and the old one will be reconstructed, thus giving the section the characteristics of a motorway. It is part of the Europe Motorway which will connect Sofia with Kalotina Border Checkpoint.

Phased Construction of Hemus Motorway from Boaza to Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo Road Begins

DSC_0010.JPGThe staged construction of Hemus Motorway started in the section between the Boaza road junction and the I-5 Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo road with a length of 134.14 km. At the end of last year, the government allocated BGN 1.12 billion (VAT excluded) from the budget. The contractor of this project is the state-owned company Avtomagistrali EAD. The beginning of the construction works was attended by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Petya Avramova, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov, the Chairman of the Road Infrastructure Agency Georgi Terziyski, the Executive Director of Avtomagistrali EAD Stoyan Belichev, members of parliament, mayors from the region and others.

That was said by the Chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency, Georgi Terziyski, at the forum on Priority Connectivity of Northern Bulgaria in Ruse, organized by the mayor of Ruse Municipality, Plamen Stoilov, in coordination with the Road Safety Institute.

12 Offers were Submitted for the Construction of another Section of Struma Motorway through the Kresna Gorge

19.02.2019 16:15 offers under the public procurement procedure for the selection of a contractor for the design and construction of lot 3.2.2, or another 10,4 km of Struma Motorway in the Kresna – Krupnik section, were opened. This is the carriageway from Kulata to Sofia, which will pass on the eastern side of the Kresna Gorge along a new route. The entire section from Kresna to Krupnik, which is approximately 24 kilometers long, is divided into two lots – lot 3.2.1 and lot 3.2.2, thus allowing the works on the site to be carried out simultaneously in order the project to be completed within the time framework of the Operational Programme „Transport and Transport Infrastructure “.
