The Construction of the Bypass Road of the Town of Montana Starts

site_205.JPGThe Chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency eng. Stephan Chaykov signed a contract for construction of site Road I–1 (Е79) „Bypass of the town of Montana” from km 102+060 to km 114+512,20. The project is co-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund and the national budget under Operational Programme on Transport 2007-2013. The official ceremony was attended by the Minister of Regional Development Dessislava Terzieva and eng. Lazar Lazarov, Member of the Management Board.

The construction contract is in the amount of 46 572 618,11 BGN, VAT included. Contractor of the project is “Obhod Montana” company, consisting of Trace Group Hold JSC, Sofia and PSI JSC, Stara Zagora. On behalf of the constructor the contract was signed by eng. Tcvetan Tconev.

The total length of the section is 12,452 km. The project includes construction of 4 road junctions, 7 underpasses, 2 overpasses, bridge over Ogosta River, railway overpass, etc. The period of implementation is 480 calendar days (16 months).

The site is along the route of Pan-European Transport Corridor No IV and represents a section from Vidin to Botevgrad. Road Е-79 serves as a transport link between three European countries  – Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. The put into operation of the second bridge over Danube River at Vidin – Kalafat leads to increase of the transit traffic in northwestern Bulgaria and the alignment will be used more intensively as the shortest route between Western and Eastern Europe and the Aegean Sea as well as a link of Europe with Asia.

The construction supervision will be exercised by „N R – INFRAM - 2” company, in which participate „N R CONSULT” Ltd. – Haskovo and „INFRAM” JSC, Prague. The contract is in the amount of 1 512 000,00 BGN, VAT included.
