lorry_road_variant.jpgFrom November 2nd (Monday) the traffic of trucks over 10 tons through the Petrohan Pass - II-81 Montana – Kostinbrod road is banned. This week the section will continue to be used as a bypass route for vehicles over 12 tons travelling from Vidin to Sofia, passing through the pass due to the modernisation of road I-1/E-79 Mezdra-Botevgrad, in the Rebarkovo-Lyutidol section.

From November 2nd, heavy goods vehicles will travel in both directions on the other alternative route of E-79 - II-16 Mezdra-Novi Iskar road through the Iskar Gorge, along which heavy traffic to Vidin is currently passing. This is expected to continue until early December, when all heavy goods traffic will be transferred to the E79. The  manufacturers at the Rebarkovo-Lyutidol section are working with maximum mobilisation so that traffic on E79 can be restored as soon as possible.

Until then, the additional bypass route for vehicles up to 4.5 tons along the Mezdra-Botevgrad direction will be the third-class road III-161 Rebarkovo-Lyutidol and the municipal road network in the village of Lyutidol, as well as all other roads of the republican road network for which there are no temporary traffic organisations and can be used as alternative bypass routes. Drivers need to drive with caution and strictly follow road signals.
