On October 5th , the Renovation of 12 km of the Trakia Motorway lane for Burgas begins from Belozem Road Node to Orizovo Road Node
On October 5th, a renovation of the first 12 km of the Trakia motorway begins in the lane for Burgas. The renovation will cover 52 km in total, which will be gradually renovated. The section to be renovated begins at the 156 km after the Belozem road node and ends at the 168 km before the Orizovo road node. During the renovation activities, the two-way traffic will be shifted to the lane to Sofia, and the driving speed will be up to 70 km/h.
Drivers need to drive with caution and strictly follow the road signs set.
Because of the renovation, the connection of Plodovitovo road node from Trakia motorway in the lane for Burgas to the third-class road III-666 Orizovo – Plodovitovo – Parvomay will be closed. The vehicles travelling to Parvomay can exit from the Trakia motorway at Chirpan and return to Plodovitovo and Parvomay using the second-class road II-66.
Construction works in the 12 km section include complete replacement of the asphalt pavement, improvement of drainage, new horizontal marking, road signs and road restraint systems. The renovation will be carried out by the Avtomagistrali company, with which the Road Infrastructure Agency has a contract under the Public Procurement Act for the maintenance of the Trakia motorway.
The renovation of the 12 km is scheduled to be completed in the late October – early November. If the weather is good, the construction works towards Burgas will continue in the 40 km section from Orizovo to Stara Zagora. After the completion of the renovation of the lane to Burgas, next year the lane for the capital will be renovated too.
